Cartahaven gift cards

Map credit for a hiker, hunter or paddler you know: they pick the maps. Trail club maps, park and forest maps, hunting and fishing maps from the publishers here, on their phone and working with no signal.

How it works

  1. You pay once and get a gift card code (by email too).
  2. They redeem it at /redeem with a free Cartahaven account, and the credit is added to their account.
  3. On any paid map they tick “Use my credit”. The credit pays all but $0.50 of the price; that, and any sales tax, is paid by card at checkout.
  4. They open the map in the Cartahaven app and use it offline, with their GPS position on it.
  • Credit does not expire and is not cash: it can't be withdrawn or moved to another account.
  • Free maps (USGS topos, Forest Service maps and many more) stay free: the credit is for paid maps.
  • If a map bought with credit is refunded, the credit goes back to the account.
  • Publishers are paid their full share of every map bought with credit.

No sales tax on the gift card itself: tax, where it applies, is added when the credit buys a map.
