Cartahaven keeps a platform fee of 15% of the price, at least $0.50 per sale. Card processing is included in that fee, so there is nothing else to pay. Free maps cost nothing to list. Paid maps can be priced from $1.99 to $1,000.00.

Paid automatically through Stripe
Connect a Stripe account from your dashboard. Your share of each sale goes to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank on its normal payout schedule. You can see sales and recent payouts in your dashboard and export sales as CSV.
Publishers in the United States only, for now. Buyers can be anywhere. If you are outside the US and want to sell, email support@cartahaven.com and we will let you know when your country opens.

Bulk upload
Drop a whole folder of GeoPDFs (subfolders too, up to 500 MB per file). Each georeferenced file becomes a draft with its coverage area read from the PDF. Files without georeferencing wait for you to place them on the map. Files you already uploaded are skipped, so you can stop and resume.
Spreadsheets (CSV)
Set titles, descriptions, prices, activities and status for many maps at once. Export your catalog, edit it in Excel or Google Sheets, and import it again; you review every change before it is saved.
Free updates for buyers
Upload a new version of a map and everyone who owns it gets it at no cost. Buyers are emailed when a new edition is out.
Free maps welcome
Price a map at zero to give it away: a park map, a club trail map, a sampler. There is no fee on free maps.
Codes and gifts
Promo codes for discounts, access codes that give a map or bundle free to a class, club or event, and gift purchases from your listings.

Embeds and QR codes

Label each edition, set valid-from and expiry dates, and schedule the next one ahead of time; buyers are emailed when it goes live and warned when theirs has expired. Downloads report per edition, with CSV.

Invite colleagues as admins, editors or viewers. Keep maps unlisted or private and give them to staff, crews or members through member lists and join links. Available now, free during early access.
Moving from the Avenza Map Store
Your GeoPDFs work as they are; we never re-encode them. A move usually looks like this:
- Upload your GeoPDFs. Use the bulk uploader with the same files you sold on Avenza. Coverage areas are read from the files.
- Copy your listing details. The Avenza importer in your dashboard reads your public listings from your store page on store.avenza.com (or a CSV you paste with Title, Description, Price and Activities columns), matches them to the maps you uploaded by title, and fills in titles, descriptions, prices and activities for the matches you pick. It copies listing details only; it does not download maps from Avenza.
- Check and publish. Nothing goes live until you publish. Then connect Stripe to start selling paid maps.
Your buyers on Avenza don’t move over automatically. To give existing customers a map here, you can hand out access codes. Publishing here is non-exclusive, so you can keep selling elsewhere too.
Plain terms
- You keep your copyright. We get a licence to host, show and deliver your maps.
- Unpublish any time; that stops new sales, and past buyers keep access.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before raising the fee.
